Design and Style a student event for Autumn 2015

 

During the project there will be workshops with Boohoo to support all entries with questions, advice and guidance

Project Brief

Boohoo would like you to design and style a student event which could be activated accross UK universities on each of their campus's. The activation will be carried out in September and October 2015. Boohoo are looking for new and exciting ideas to help target students.

As well as the overall concept and styling of the event, you must also incorporate the commercial aspect of this type of event, i.e how it would generate more sales through the Boohoo website.

You can enter the competition as a group or as an individual 

 

 

Budget is £30,000 - to include event production design and implementation

  • build/de-rig set design,

  • lighting,

  • sound,

  • pre-production,

  • cost, promotion,

  • material printing

  • all other associated expenses 

 

THE AIM IS TO GENERATE SALES AND SHOW RETURN ON INVESTMENT. 

Boohoo cannot sell product at the event  - but aim to direct customers to the website so consider how to drive sales

 

Key Objectives 

Primary Objective - The event/campaign should measure the following 

  • Increase in sales (use of promotion code) against 2014

  • Increase in brand awareness on campus

  • An engaging and exciting experience for students

 

Social Media 

Plays a major role within our campaigns and events, so it it critiacl to include social intergration at all stages of the event to retain interest in the brand

  • Hashtage for the overall campaign 

  • How can social media contribute to generate sales on site ?

  • Use of social media to build up awareness pre event, usng boohoo tone of voice and personality 

  • How can each social media platform be used differently

 

Content 

  • Ideas to include emails prior to the event - Invitations?

  • Direct mail

  • Geo target - email students specially at the university

  • Artwork fo rthe bus - Relevant imagery

  • Showcase certain product - What product will be good to use on the bus 

 

PR

  • Are there key bloggers at the university

  • Student publications at each university 

  • Student university radio or other communication channels

  • Local newspaper - coverage/ad

 

Submission 

  • Prior to submission , worshops with Boohoo where you can discuss your research and ideas to be reviewd and gain feedback

  • Submission will be a pitch to present to the panel of judges - a digital copy of the presenation will also need to be submitted so the panal can take this away and pick the overall winner.

 

Pitch - Presenation shoud include moodboards, story boards and timelines and no longer than 15-20 minutes
